                               After packing.....

The day before I left it was storming!

freakin favorite...florence

hello i am in my florence hostel! its quite nice and super duper cheap! its especially attentive to making international assistance super accessible. Today i went biking today for like three hours around florence and discovered this beautiful church...not even sure which one it is.. but it was awesome possom! also my roommates at thhis hostel are scottish and yes they do have thr the best accents. totally beats the british accent.
now im off to a night bike tour. i dont even bike at home but biking here is super magical.i most definitely do not have enough time here...in italy! i really want to see more of tuscany but travel and hostel costs are adding up so i think ill see more florence in the morning and then set off to rome and meet up with my wwoofer friends rachel and sarah. i gotta say backpacking has been such an experience...gotta trust yourself cause youre the only one youve got.
hahahahaha omg i wrote the earlier paragraph right before i went on my night bike tour that my place apparently hosts every other day.......-t was the best experience...of all experiences... i could well say in my life. haha it was soeffing fun, informative, exciting, gorgeous. ap euro finally seemed to have a reason as we spoke of medici and the renaissance. its so freaking lovely..(he history, the stories, and the art... all of it! plus i loved loved loved the people on our tour. three girls from cali.a guy from new zealand.and three gi rls and four guys from limassol, cyprus, a super small island off of turkey and there they all speak greek! basically they were loud and excited all the time and that really helped to liven our group.. not to mention that we really started to have fun just introducing ourselves by name. 6irst cali girl says shes emily from california...wow. cuz i just said the exact same thing right after and yeah it felt like i was mocking her or something.. then the next girl is emma from cali too. ohh yeahhhh and emily was from usc though.. so we were immediately rivals. good stuff. hahah jk actually she was really cool! the other girl ended up hittin it up with thenew zealander. they went off together everywhere and left the tour early lol greatest things happen when you travel. oh and our tour guide was from miami and lives here cause she found a guy! its amore in italy..florence is the place to fall in love i guess. i have definitely fallen in love with the city. we saw it by moonlight, on the brige over the river, at michaelangelos piazza...stunning. whooooo and also we had real gelato...therwe are only three real gelato places left in florence and we went to one. awesometastic is all i have to say. i went with my daring side and got a gray gelato...it was sesame! how cool right? looked like concrete. our group was so great we were so alive and the streetds were all ours.. mostly. and we asked the tour leader if we could go to a bar cuz we were all so chill with eac other she said ..dude why not. it was bomb getting to know all the people. the cyprus people were goin to a club but emily and me emily were too not into the club thing. i was in her dorm in which she had ...ok im so tired i need to wake up early anf finish this tom..:oly craop bonne notte

Finito

Right now I'm at UCLA. My Italy trip has been the most amazing thing of my life and though it's completely over and done with, and my new friends are now billions of miles away in Italy and other places, I know life is gonna be different because of this trip and them. The things I've seen and the people I've met and the trust that i've learned to give myself have all happened in three and half short weeks. I can't believe it!
Also I think that fate or somebody up in the sky really didn't want me to come back home with all trouble I went through to get to LA in the very end hahaha
My train broke down on the way to the airport, and I lucky hopped onto someones car which took me to the airport, and got there an hour before my flight, but check in was over. I missed my flight back. However I guess the scenario played out as best as it possibly could for a nightmare situation. I met another guy who was heading for montreal (the same plane as I had) and we shared our sorrows and disbelief that we missed the effing plane.... and tried to work out our situation. It was four in the morning in LA soooooo no one was awake on fb which was my only connection to america at the time....except....one person was awake! and that friggin saved my life hahhaha I was soooooo grateful...cuz in the end Afraz, who never sleeps at a normal time, was able to contact my parents to get me another flight.
Anyways the dude from Montreal was really cool; going to college there and six feet six, has three jobs, and first language is french, though he speaks english perfectly. We just hung out for a whole day... and took a shuttle somewhere else since the airport was so dreadful and small and had bad wifi. Ended up that there was a beach right next to us. So went there, ate there, and went back to airport.
We made a good day of a really bad one, in the end.
Right now I'm in Sproul hall, I have training for my new job as Team Green for Hitch Residential Suites in about an hour. I missed out on all the bonding they had at SB, camping as well as another camp ( hahha that's two camp/retreat things that I missed), since I was in Italy. However, I don't regret a thing. The Hitch Family is super welcoming, there are twelve of us, 6 first years and 6 other years hahah. Everyones really really great. I'm excited to be in LA and at LA.
Thing is I have to have training basically till school starts. :( I need to find time to hang out with my other uc friends in cerritos before I leave, so yeahhh imma see how this plays out! I even get to move in early two weeks! 9/11!
omg
aite gotta bounce! So sad that I couldn't post stuff for Cinque terre, Florence, and Rome on the blog since I lost my dang computer plug! Maybe I'll update that later. They were THE BEST.
